Opening Hours

The Council's main offices at Priory House, Chicksands and the Citizone PoPs at Ampthill and Biggleswade are open for all services to the public from:

8.45am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday

8.45 - 4.00pm on Friday

NOTE: on Wednesdays the Citizone PoPs will open at 9.30am to allow for staff training but the telephones are open from 8.45am

Outside of Office Hours Emergencies:

When the offices are closed and you urgently need help (Council Emergencies ONLY) you can contact the council's Duty Officer on

(Please have pen and paper ready as a recorded message will give you the appropriate duty officer's telephone number)

The Duty Officer will assess the situation and decide how best we can assist.

Examples of urgent situations include raves or other noise nuisance problems, unsafe buildings due to, for example, storm or traffic damage. It doesn't include payment or account enquiries - these must only be made during office hours.
