The Council is responsible for keeping streets and public amenity areas free of litter, dog faeces, leaves, and other items such as shopping trolleys or broken glass.

We also remove larger accumulations of rubbish and fly tipping.

The District is divided into Zones that receive attention at different frequencies. Town Centres are visited daily, which should ensure that any rubbish resulting from markets in these locations are dealt with also.

Mechanical sweeping is not carried out on unkerbed roads.

This council does not spray weedkiller on the highway or clean gullies - this service is provided by Bedfordshire County Council. They can be contacted on:
