Milton Bryan Conservation Area was designated in July 1971. This review is one of a series being carried out by Mid Bedfordshire District Council and will enable Development Control to determine whether proposals preserve or enhance the character or appearance of the Conservation Area and its setting.
This review cumulated in a month long public consultation exercise held in October 2005. The proposed boundary changes and Draft Character Area document is still available to download from the right of this page.
The review considered the setting, character and appearance of the Conservation Area and areas in need of enhancement were also identified.
Five additions and six subtractions are proposed to the conservation area, the additions being Church End, Perch Orchard, Nos 1 & 2 Fountaines Cottages, land adjacent to Fountaine's farm and land to the south of Winnington House. Areas proposed to be excluded are land adjacent to Leys farm. land adjacent to Home farm and land to the north east of Winnington House.
